Tuesday, June 23 in Anchorage to hear from ExxonMobil Corp. and TransCanada Corp. on their planned partnership to build the AGIA natural gas pipeline.

The hearing is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Anchorage Legislative Information Office’s large conference room on the second floor of the LIO, located at 716 W 4th Avenue.

Senate Resources-Energy set Tuesday
review of ExxonMobil-TransCanada pact

ANCHORAGE – The Senate Resources and Energy committees will hold a joint overview hearing on Tuesday, June 23, to review the recent agreement of ExxonMobil and Trans-Canada Corporation to build a massive pipeline to transport North Slope natural gas to users and markets in Alaska, Canada and the U.S. Lower 48.

The public overview is scheduled from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on June 23, at the Anchorage Legislative Information Office, 716 W. 4th Avenue, Room 220.

Senator Lesil McGuire, R-Anchorage, and Senator Bill Wielechowski, D-Anchorage, the Senate Resources co-chairs, said TransCanada and ExxonMobil representatives will give a presentation and answer questions about their recent partnership.

The joint committee has also invited the BP/ConocoPhillips Denali gasline team and Governor Sarah Palin’s gasline team to present project updates.

The committee co-chairs said the three-hour hearing can be extended, if needed, to accommodate public turnout.
